Jesus is the Living Word, but how can we bring the Gospel into our everyday lives? What does Jesus' life mean for children today? In this chat, I help children and their caregivers to read, understand and make real the Gospel. My focus is on how young people and teens can learn and grow from Christ's lessons.
"My work and study bring together lessons of the Bible and support for children in crisis. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies at Nations University in Louisiana, and have diploma in Biblical Studies from World Bible School, and I have completed advanced certifications with Crisis Care Training International (CCTI) for trauma care of children and training caregivers; I study community mobilization and human rights through the Young African Leader's Initiative, Bureau of International Information Programs, U.S. Department of State. I have worked with CCTI for several years as a trainer for adult caregivers, and care coordinator for refugee children, sexually-exploited children, and children with disabilities.
God asks us to care for children, but poverty and conflict make this difficult. I believe it takes faith, training and skills to help children who are victims of trauma and violence.
