The Myanmar Times reported last year that Yangon’s #1 problem is trash, and looking around me, I see a country that produces more waste the wealthier we get. Now the average person makes about half-kilo of trash per day, mostly food containers and plastic. It clutters streets and clogs the storm-drains. Poor children climb through it looking for valuables, often barefoot. Take a look with me at this problem we’re just beginning to notice.
