In November 2015, Myanmar held general elections for the first time since 1990 (when the military government annulled the results). The National League for Democracy won 86% of the seats in the Assembly of the Union, and Aung San Suu Kyi became State Counsellor of Myanmar. It was an amazing day, and completely changed my understanding of how governments work.
