Although Phnom Penh has been recycling for several years, the poor people who walk through the streets with wheel-barrows and sqeaking-horns announcing plastics pick-up can hardly keep up with the pace at which the rising middle class is consuming—and disposing—plastic cups, plastic bags and Styrofoam containers. These line virtually all of the streets, clog storm drains, and form a layer over streams. But how to make people behave, when it’s so easy to be wasteful? I’ll show you.
