Women struggle to take hold of legal, health and human rights in Sierra Leone, but not only here. Sheryl Sandberg said "Ladies, Lean-in," but sometimes you've got to stand up, shout out, and fight back. In Sierra Leone, leaning was not going to do it. In this chat, I shout-out about women's empowerment and things you can do to rally your community for better education, equal access to healthcare, rights to assets and children, equity and dignity.
I am a popular radio personality in Sierra Leone, broadcasting for women's empowerment on Radio Mount Aureol "Women on the Move", Independent Radio Network "Women's Platform", Sky Radio "Women's Court" and "Youth Now on Gender Equality". I have also worked as an emergency operator for the Ebola Emergency Operations Center, and as community and educational program officer at Schooling for Life Foundation and World Heath Organization in Freetown.
Where women are dignified with human rights, society can be healthy and whole.
