Along the streets in Dushanbe, you’ll pass many women wearing long colorful dresses and loose-fitting pants, with very colorful headscarves. It is our traditional dress, and part of our culture. The wearing of burqa, or black-color hijab is outlawed in our country, as our government tries to avoid the influence of Wahhabism and stricter interpretations of Sharia. That’s why you often see a woman’s hair peeking out around her neck and at her forehead.
I am a student of business and finance, and aspiring to discover new business opportunities in Dushanbe.
Peace is the foundation on which we build dreams, enjoy good health, grow our families and celebrate our birthdays. It is because we are at peace that so many things are possible.
