Tajik families are fairly large and most are living from day to day. So the customary practice to send each child to school in a crisp white shirt and navy bottoms, girls with bows in their hair, is a burden that overwhelms many families. Mothers have taken to the airwaves to vent their frustration at the cost of uniforms, the requirement put on parents, the difficulty to balance with rising costs of food. Why are uniforms so important? I talk to teachers and families and share their views.
I’m a university student, and I greatly enjoy reading history and writing.
To each a special beauty.
