Ocearch is a leader in oceanographic exploration, generating critical data about the size and migratory patterns of great white shark populations. Our marine expeditions safely bring scientists into brief contact with these sharks to perform tests and tagging, then release, gathering valuable data, which we share on our open-source platform (see www.ocearch.org). We believe that through education about marine ecosystems, more people can take an active role in protecting our fragile oceans.
As the manager of Ocearch’s education program, I teach people about ocean stewardship and the interconnection of ocean food chains, climate, and ecosystems. My background is in marine biology and experiential education.
